The NPTC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Animal Management are practical work related courses. You will progress through the qualification by working in a realistic workplace environment supported by work experience placements and by the completion of assignments. The level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Animal Management is equivalent to 2 and 3 A levels respectively. These courses will give you a broad base of experience to prepare you for work in the industry or for progression to Higher Education if you achieve the required point profile. The course covers a variety of related module and may include: Animal anatomy and physiology Animal behaviour health and nursing Animal biology Animal nutrition Breed development and welfare Exotic animal health and husbandry Investigating project in the animal management sector Managing animal accommodation Planning and monitoring animal feeding Work related experience in the animal management sector. Functional skills in one of the following will be completed during the year; English, maths or IT at Level 2 or 3 depending on ability and suitability of the subject for the planned career path.
