OCR (MEI) A2 Further Maths

UPDATED 20150528 14:54:00

Develops topics started in C1 and C2 and introduces ideas of proof, functions and numerical methods, and extends the use of calculus. Further techniques in algebra, trigonometry and integration are introduced. Vector geometry, parametric equations and differential equations are added. Builds on the work of FP1, extended the work on matrices and complex numbers and introducing polar co-ordinates and hyperbolic functions. Algorithms are used in a variety of contexts to solve real world problems. Numerical methods are employed to allow students to solve a wide range of problems, which would otherwise by outside of their mathematical understanding
