The aim of this course is to encourage development and establish communication skills and fluency in British Sign Language. Units cover a wide variety of topics and sign vocabulary and in - depth knowledge of grammatical content and structures of British Sign Language. Deaf Community and Deaf Culture will also be looked at in depth. There is a strong emphasis for students to have access to, and interaction with, deaf BSL users.

Learning will be based around group participation in a supportive and encouraging environment but some time will spent with Deaf people outside the classroom.
