Get Growing at the Botanic Garden

A fun and social course for adults with learning disabilities.Come along to the Botanic Garden in Oxford to learn about horticulture and gain practical gardening skills on a five week course. Find out how we grow our plants on our veggie beds and take the opportunity to grow some of your own in this historic garden. See plants from around the World in the tropical Glass houses and find out how a botanic garden is different from a normal garden or park. We will help you get ready and keep safe whilst gardening plus how to use suitable tools for the jobs we'll be doing. We'll be growing seeds and plants, both indoors and outdoors, in the veggie patch. We will be learning how to sow seeds, prick out seedlings, pot on and plant out young plants as well as finding out what plants need in order to grow well. You will be keeping the veggie patch tidy and harvesting plants when they are ready to eat.It is not possible to enrol on-line for this course.
