Below are details of the various Advanced Microsoft software courses that we offer. The courses units that are included in the Advanced IT User skills qualifications; therefore; learners can choose to build up their units to a full qualification or just undertake 1 or more stand alone qualification units. The information below applies to each of the unit qualifications. However; individual course contact is set separately for each unit. The Course fee; which consist of 1 unit; is £295.00 this include tuition and BCS exam registration costs. Note: There is a college annual student registration fee is of £20.00. If the learner undertakes a follow-on course or any other course in the college in that academic year (August to end July) they will pay the fee just once. This course is undertaken through distance learning using online course materials with tutor support via email; telephone and occasionally 1-2-1 tutorials. Learners will be given 3hrs tutor support over the entire course; plus 1hr support for assessment & exams. The tutor is not employed to provide more 3hrs support to learners; therefore; if learners feel that they will need more support it is advisable that they do not enroll on this course. Learners can enroll on a distance learning course at any time and wherever they have access to the INTERNET – or if they download the course materials from the website they can work through the course offline submitting assignments and their work for their tutor to feedback on. When they have completed a unit the learner will be given a pre-exam assessment test to see if they are ready to take the exam. Once the tutor thinks the learner is ready to take the exam they will arrange a date for the learner to come into the college to sit the exam. Commitment to your learning. Name: MULTI Presentation Software (Level 3) Qualification title: Presentation software Qualification type: Assessment The course consists of 1 units - each unit will be assessed by a time controlled (45min) online exam How will the qualification be gained? The learner will need to gain a pass grade to gain the module accreditation. Will there be any costs additional to the course fee? There would be no expectation to purchase text books as all registered students will have access to reference materials and exercises through the college’s Virtual Learning area. However, some learners like to have access to text books for reference. Practice and guidance books can be borrowed from the college library to help them do further practice away from the course. Some people like to have copies of these books to refer to once the course has finished. The learning centre staff will be able to advise learner about options for purchasing reference books. What if I fail an exam? The course fees cover 1 diagnostic and 1 exam cost. Learners who need to re-sit their exam will be required to pay an additional £40 for the diagnostic and re-sit tests. When the learner has undertaken further brush up on the areas that they are weak on they will be able to re-take the exam as advised by their tutor.
