They have all been filmed by TV and Film students or the work of our students has appeared on their show. By working on real industry assignments; our students gain a working knowledge of what is required in the tv and film sector for a whole range of roles. In addition they work in a state of the art building that has its own TV studio; Gallery and editing suite; from which we broadcast live to the college. All our equipment is HD; as reflects the real world and many of the Universities that our students progress to. You will also be taught by experienced tutors who have worked in the tv and film industry. Last year our success rates for TV and Film students Year 1 was a fantastic 94% and Year 2 was an outstanding 100%! This is why City College is in the top ten FE colleges in the country! The BTEC Level 3 Diploma offers an engaging programme for those who have a desire to work in the media industry. If you wish to work as a director; screen writer; documentary film maker; camera operator or any of the vast range of roles within the industry this course is for you. As well as your main programme you will enjoy working to a live brief; work expereince; and be able to improve your maths and English grades. For those with high GCSE greades there is also the opportunity to study AS Photography along side your programme. Successful completion will lead to a place on the Extended Diploma - Year 2. In addition; students who have attained a B grade in English will be invited to study on the Photography A level.
