If you think this applies to you please ask for more details during your interview at the college; if you need to discuss this before applying for the course please call Angela or Caroline on 023 80 577359 About the Course Note: The college student registration fee is an annual fee of £20.00; if the learner undertakes a follow-on course or any other course in the college in that academic year (August to end July) they will pay the fee just once. This course is undertaken through distance learning by self study. There will be access to support in the unet learning centre at the college main site in B block. Learners will also be allocated a tutor and will be given 6 hours individual support over the entire course; this will include feedback on assignments and sample tests; 1-2-1 tutorials in person; over the phone or via email. Learners that have any additional learning needs will need to discuss this with their tutor or student support when applying for the course to ensure they are provided with any additional support they are eligible to receive from the college. To help keep course costs low course materials will be accessed via the college website; if learners would also prefer to have printed course materials these can be borrowed from the tutor at the start of each course unit. IT books can also be borrowed from the college library.

Name: NOCN Award in IT User Skills (ITQ) (QCF) (Level 1) Qualification title: Award in IT User Skills (ITQ) (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The cost of this course has been kept low because it is partially funded by the Skills Funding Agency, therefore you will be expected to produce evidence that you have achieved each units requirements for gaining the unit accreditation. The tutor will set work to be completed which will demonstrate computing skills and knowledge. Learners will develop a portfolio of evidence to meet the qualifications learning outcomes. Once the tutor agrees sufficient evidence has been submitted they will recommend the learner to receive their qualification from the NOCN. Ideally you will have access to a computer with Microsoft office 2007 and the software appropriate to the units of learning you chose to study – this can be discussed at your interview with a tutor before enrolling on a course.
