The aim of this course is to provide students with a wide range of knowledge and skills in Animal Care. Students will have the opportunity to work with a range of animals including small mammals, farm livestock and dogs and undertake a variety of husbandry tasks. The course will also allow students to develop their personal and social skills helping to prepare them for employment or progression to the next course. Example Modules/Areas of Study: - Check that a small animal is healthy - Assist with catching and restraining a small animals - Groom small animals - Care of farm animals - Maintain the safety of self and others in the work place - Working in a team Farm animal health - Assist with the feedstuffs for small animals - Assist with animal accommodation - Preparing for an interview The course will also include Functional Skills in Maths and English, Personal and Social Development and tutorials.
