The AS course covers women's lives in Athens and Rome and Homer's Iliad. In the A2 year you will study Greek tragedies including Medea and Oedipus the King, as well as Virgil's Aeneid. All the texts we use are in translation, so you don't need any knowledge of Classical Greek or Latin. In class, you will spend time discussing the ideas and issues that are raised by these texts and topics and you will be able to extend your learning through visits to the British Museum and by going to see Greek plays.
