At South Essex College we believe that education should be available to everyone. Foundation Studies aims to develop the skills students need in life and work, making them more independent and confident while helping them to achieve their goals. Our Foundation Studies courses give students work-relevant practical skills in exciting vocational areas of their choice, as well as the opportunity to improve their literacy, numeracy and social skills. Our foundation studies programmes are nationally recognised. Offered from Entry Level 1 to Level 1, our supported Foundation Studies are nationally-recognised courses which will help students get into employment or progress to further study. We offer: * Skills assessments for all students to ensure they are put on the right course and can participate fully in their learning experience. * Supportive learning environments. * Small class sizes. * A dedicated Learning Support Assistant for each group to help them with their work. * Learning tailored to individual students needs. * Regular reviews of students progress by tutors. * Opportunities for work experience through our links with local employers. * Good progression to mainstream courses.
