This course prepares you with skills and knowledge in a variety of topics that will prepare you for the next level of education, Apprenticeship or a job in Animal Care. You will go to a local Garden and Animal Centre for a day and a half a week for hands-on learning and teaching by professionals in the field. You will attend the main college site at Dunstable for a day and a half to cover theory and core skills. In addition, you'll need to complete 100 hours of work experience across the year. The course will give you the opportunity to work directly with different animals. You will explore topics such as feeding, handling and grooming animals, looking after their accommodation and understanding their health and welfare. You will look at the science behind animal behaviour, do work experience and gain practical skills.
