Course Content:The course follows the Edexcel syllabus and consists of three units over three terms. Students will be developing skills such as:|Comparing texts on a set theme|Writing a review or article to suit audience and purpose|Writing a speech, script or narrative|Studying spoken language|Giving a brief presentation and participating in a discussion and role-play|Analysing and responding to extracts of the set text 'Touching the Void'.Length:29 weeks.Suitability:Students who need to improve their GCSE grade.Entry Requirements:A grade D at GCSE English Language or equivalent would be preferable.Assessment:Two units are assessed through four controlled assessments, where coursework is produced under exam conditions, while the third unit prepares students for the final exam.
