Designed for the non-professional harness horse driver, looking to develop skills with light and/or heavy horses. All levels will be catered for from the complete novice to the more competent Individual. Candidates must be over 18 years of age. The course will cover:- Introduction to Show Preparation of Harness Horse - Understand show preparation for single and pairs - Indentify different vehicles in show conditions - Discuss correct show attire for horse/groom/drive - Health and safety at shows - Care & Management of Harness Horses - Effect of harness on horses movement - Main injuries associated with driving - Health and safety and environmental good practice - Developing Harness & Driving Skills - Harness single and pair under supervision - Identify types of working harness - Drive single and pair under supervision - Long rein single and pair in controlled environment
