This course caters for keen wine drinkers and those who wish to be employed in positions of responsibility in the wine trade. Topics covered include: labelling regulations, tasting technique, wine & food matching, viticulture & vinification, wine storage and the social, health & legal issues relating to wines. Alcoholic beverages examined will include light, sparkling and fortified wines. The assessment will include a written examination and a blind tasting. Students on this course are integrated with those taking the Foundation Degrees in Wine Production and Business at Plumpton College. The programme progresses onto the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits or the Foundation Degree in Wine Business.
