Is the course right for me? Do you often find yourself dismantling objects then putting them back together to see how they work? Are you a natural problem solver who enjoys hands-on learning? If the answer is yes, then Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering could be your perfect career! Our Diploma in Engineering Level 2 will introduce you to the world of engineering and help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to progress to further education or an apprenticeship. What will I be doing? Our course balances theory with some great hands-on experience. You will learn how to work safely and effectively, how to interpret engineering information such as orthographic drawings and how to use maths to solve different engineering problems. You will also study a unit on electrical and mechanical science. By the end of the course, you will have developed a sound understanding of different mechanical and electrical components, and will be able to identify the properties and characteristics of a range of materials. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to demonstrate your new skills with milling machines, centre lathes, pillar drills and AutoCAD techniques.
