The Milestones programme is a collection of courses for adults with a sensory, physical, mental health or learning difficulty/disability and adults with an acquired brain injury. These courses take place within community in and around the Worcestershire area. A wide range of subjects at foundation level are offered, including courses delivering the three stands of the new Foundation Learning Curriculum , courses tailored to specific disability requirements and courses for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Worcester College of Technologys Milestone groups include: Worcestershire Lifestyles These courses are run in association with Worcestershire Lifestyles (a local charity working with people with disabilities) and are aimed at adults with physical, mental health or learning difficulties/disabilities. Students learn personal, social and employability skills (where appropriate) and have the opportunity to improve their English, maths and IT skills. Sight Concern our partnership with Sight Concern and Worcester Integrated Services provides computer classes for people with a visual impairment. Students can learn skills such as touch typing, word processing, internet and email and have access to a range of specialist software. Craft classes are also available and include painting, collage and a variety of crafts to suit individual needs. Referrals are processed through Sight Concern. The following qualifications are available, dependent upon ability and progress: ASDAN and NOCN Certificates in Personal and Social Development, Personal Progress, Employability Skills and Functional Skills. Learners on these courses will receive reviews of their progress throughout the year to assess achievement, general performance and progression support needs in the following year.
