This course is for students who wish to prepare for employment in the uniformed public services sector or to gain the qualifications for entry to higher level public services courses such as the BTEC suite of Diploma's at level 2 or 3 and the NCFE Level 2 or 3 Diplomas for Entry to Uniformed Services (Military Academy). The qualification aims to provide learners with: An understanding of the uniformed public services sector The opportunity to investigate career opportunities in the uniformed public services sector The opportunity to investigate volunteering roles and the transferable workplace skills volunteering can provide The ability to prepare for a recruitment interview in the uniformed public services sector An understanding of the personal commitment and fitness requirements needed to work in the uniformed public services sector The opportunity to understand and develop the skills and qualities needed to work in the uniformed public services sector eg. teamwork, communication, self-discipline, time management, navigation and drill.
