Ideal if: you are interested in working in countryside conservation, wildlife management, forestry, estates or river management. You'll need: four GCSEs at grade D or above including English and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications, and a keen interest in the countryside. You'll learn: conservation and wildlife habitat management at college and gain a variety of experience and skills including practical work on local sites and woodlands. You'll also learn valuable theory in subjects such as habitat management, estate maintenance, and livestock conservation management. Expect: to undertake a work placementwithin the rural sector to build confidence, become adaptable in the work place and develop transferable skills. You'll love: regularly conducting conservation work with Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Duchy Woodlands as well as our strong links with Cornwall County Council, The National Trust and RSPB. You'll go onto: further study such as the BTEC Extended Diploma in Countryside Management. There are future job opportunities as Ranger, Woodland Manager, or Conservation Officer.
