Introduction to Criminology

The Introduction to Criminology course is aimed at those with an interest in crime and criminality within a contemporary society. The course will focus on the workings of the criminial justice system, Police and prison service. You will also investigate criminological theories looking at how we define and manage criminal and deviant behaviour in our society. You will also explore how the environment around you can affect criminality and understand how to look beyond the headlines in the media in relation to the reporting of criminal acts.
