Hairdressing Diploma in Womens and Mens Skills - Level 2

Anyone who wishes to practice the introductory skills of hairdressing and barbering, with a view to seeking employment, either in a salon, or as a self- employed hairdresser. This qualification has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in the creative art of cutting and dressing ladies and men's hair, including skills such as shampooing, colouring, lightening and styling and shaping facial hair. A good standard of education is expected and good communication skills are essential as hairdressing is a service industry and without clients there would be no business. The aim of the course is to provide all the practical skills and related theory required to practice hairdressing and barbering to a commercial skill level.. You will become competent and confident with the necessary skills required by industry. You learn the practical skills of each technical unit and gain experience in client care and how to operate within health and safety guidelines.You will be working on fee paying clients to improve your communication skill and develop outstanding client care and customer service. The course involves learning health and safety relating to hairdressing and barbering salons, including legislation, work awareness and safety in the workplace. Students will study the anatomy of hair growth and terminology used in the ladies hairdressing and barbering fields, and how to work effectively within a professional salon environment.

Entry requirements

Full hairdressing and barbering kit, student uniform and text book to be purchased. There is also a small fee which contributes towards all the products used, laundry and other expenses.
