The Culture & Environment Liberal Arts Higher Education Diploma is designed for those who may not yet have decided what career direction they wish to pursue, want to change careers, or simply have a love of the subject matter covered and wish to develop their academic knowledge and skills to obtain the first two years of their honours degree locally.Liberal Arts degrees are extremely popular in the USA with employers and students valuing the breadth of study they offer. An increasing number of UK Universities are currently developing Liberal Arts programmes. A Liberal Arts degree can lead to a diverse range of careers such as Management, Research, Human Resource Management, Enviromental related jobs and occupations and so on. Skills such as communication, critical & creative thinking, teamwork and problem solving all have a strong emphasis within this course, providing students with a solid foundation on which to demonstrate their employability in numerous career paths.The Diploma includes two projects which can be work based and/or used to demonstrate interest in a particular career direction. This enables students to gain valuable skills making them more employable and attractive to employers. This programme was developed and is delivered and assessed by Peter Symonds College, awarded by and quality assured by Middlesex University. Successful completion of this two year course will lead to a Dip HE in Liberal Arts: Culture & Environment from Middlesex University. This equates to the first two years of an honours degree. The course will provide you with the opportunity to examine theory, policy and practice as well as carry out research in a range of subjects relating to culture and environmental concerns. The subject matter of this degree was conceived on the basis that you can not reduce the impact the human race has on the environment without changing culture.
