Equine and Human Sports Science

UPDATED 20150430 12:32:33

With the advent of lottery funding for sport in the UK, combined with the additional interest in sport following the Olympics, there has been an increasing need for graduates who have knowledge and skills in all aspects of sporting performance. Such graduates are required within all sports, as well as within equestrian sporting disciplines. If you are passionate about all aspects of exercise and sporting performance including topics such as sports nutrition, peak performance, exercise physiology, gait analysis and sports injury, health, therapy and rehabilitation, then this is the course for you. The degree programme can either be studied purely academically as a three year programme or can be studied as a four year 'Sandwich' degree. If you choose the 'Sandwich' option, you will be required to undertake a minimum 48 week work placement (or two 24 week placements) in an area/s of your interest. The placement year is not mandatory but offers you an excellent opportunity to develop skills alongside your academic study, which will be recognised by future employers as a positive attribute. This course is validated in partnership with Coventry University.
