The course is aimed at students wanting to make a progression onto a degree course in art and design. In art and design, this is usually done by undertaking a Foundation course. This course is the first year of a two year foundation programme, but can also be taken as a one year discrete qualification. Students who successfully complete the first year can apply to progress onto the second year of the part-time foundation course (B05370). The majority of students on the course are returning to education or want a career change. The adult cohort makes the experience mature and exciting for the learners. The course suits students who have identified that they want to take their art and design studies much further and also develop their thinking, problem solving and creative potential.
