Activ8 Learning deliver the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification accredited through Highfields Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC). This qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry, wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace, for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, state 'you must make appropriate first-aid arrangements for your workplace. In doing so you should consider the circumstances of your workplace, workforce and the health and safety risks that may be present to help you decide what arrangements you need to put in place'. The EFAW qualification is aimed at those working in industries classed as low risk, the HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by Skills for Health; the Sector Skills Council for Health. The qualification is assessed via on-going oral questioning and practical demonstration of learner practice. The minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks should be for a minimum period of 8 guided learning hours, usually delivered over one day. This qualification now includes a module on the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
