Apprenticeships allow 16+ year olds to start work and earn a wage while learning new skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers in the industry so they offer a structured programme that takes Apprentices through the skills needed to do a job well. Most of an Apprentices training takes place on the job but they will also have to complete off:the:job training within the College and during that time they will undertake a Technical Certificate VRQ. In addition to the VRQ Technical Certificate you will also undertake a VCQ (competence unit) in the workplace collecting a portfolio of evidence and will be assessed at their place of work by a College Assessor.Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Skills):General core units:G01/02 Health & Safety in the Motor Industry.G3 Working Relationships.G4 Workshop Tools & Equipment.ERR (Employment Rights & Responsibilities).Technical Units (Heavy Vehicle):01 Vehicle Routine Maintenance.02.1 Engine Mechanical Cooling & Lubrication.02.2 Engine Fuelling (Petrol & Diesel) Ignition Air and Exhaust Systems.03 Auxiliary Electrical Systems (including starting & charging).04 Chassis Systems.05/06 Pre:Post Vehicle Inspection.12 Transmission Systems (knowledge only).Level 2 VCQ Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Competence on site)General core units:G01/02 Health & Safety in the Motor Industry.G3 Working Relationships.G4 Workshop Tools & Equipment.Technical Units (Heavy Vehicle):01 Vehicle Routine Maintenance.02.1 Engine Mechanical Cooling & Lubrication.02.2 Engine Fuelling (Petrol & Diesel) Ignition Air and Exhaust Systems.03 Auxiliary Electrical Systems (including starting & charging).04 Chassis Systems.05/06 Pre:Post Vehicle Inspection.
