Apprenticeship in Housing

UPDATED 20150423 11:58:00

Apprenticeships are practical hands on programmes designed to provide you with relevant, practical training, which will enable you to progress within your chosen industry. Apprentices are paid a minimum of 2.68 an hour if they are under 19 or over 19 and still in the first year of their apprenticeship programme. You will be employed between 30 and 40 hours a week. Those working in housing relish the challenges and opportunities it brings. It can provide an incredible variety of options, from housing management to residential involvement and from development to supported housing - to mention just a few. If you want to make a positive difference to people's lives, working in housing is for you! Apprentices new to the Housing Sector start at Level 2. You will work with an employer five days per week and on occasions may spend one day per week at the College working towards your qualification. As a housing apprentice, your duties will depend on your employer and whether they are part of the public sector, the voluntary sector, or the private rented sector. You could be assessing housing needs of applicants, letting homes, collecting rents and providing support to housing officers.
