This course is suitable for those who have already completed a Level 2 NVQ in Hairdressing wishing to extend the knowledge and skills they possess within the Barbering sector, these candidates should enrol on the shorter programme This course is also suitable for those wishing to progress into Barbering who do not have any prior knowledge or experience, these candidates should enrol on the longer programme in order to allow time to develop the required underpinning knowledge and skills. The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering gives you a job ready gives you a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards. The qualification will provide you with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as a barber. Throughout this qualification you will ensure responsibility to reduce risks to health and safety, advise and consult with clients, shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp, cut hair using basic barbering techniques, cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques and dry and finish mens hair. You will be supervised by staff and assessed on you technical competence. Mandatory units comprise: Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety Cut hair using basic techniques Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques Dry and finismens hair Shampoo and condition the scalp Advise and consult clients Progression and Teaching style: You will gain a Level 2 NVQ IN Barbering which provides you with the skills to work competently as a barber. Progression to the Level 3 NVQ in Barbering is possible.
