Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

This course is suitable for any person who is in full-time employment, but wishes to gain a qualification. This course is suitable for those who are employed in the engineering machining industry. The candidate will be involved in performing a range of duties as defined from a selection of units in the qualification. Level 3 is suitable for candidates who are a supervisor or team leader who wishes to gain a higher qualification. The course involves an interview to select the most appropriate qualification units for you and to determine that the units and qualification level are achievable. The NVQ is assessed in the workplace and the candidate is observed performing the criteria laid down in the chosen units. Underpinning knowledge questions for those units are answered, satisfactorily completed. The qualification is gained by being observed satisfactorily performing the unit performance criteria and satisfactorily answering the underpinning knowledge questions. A portfolio of evidence is built to the satisfaction of the allotted assessor. The applicant should be competent in the chosen units and will be tutored to fulfil the requirements of the observation and underpinning knowledge assessments. A team of dedicated assessors will visit students in the workplace to ascertain technical and occupational competence in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. This is an assessed qualification and so no skills are taught. Progression is from level 3 to level 4. Enhanced promotion prospects can be expected with a qualification in this specialism.
