Also known as the AVA (Assessing Vocational Achievement Level 3, this qualification replaces the A1 Assessors Award and will provide people who carry out assessments in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieve a professional qualification. Developed for those working in accredited learning, non- accredited learning, the NQF and the QCF. The assessor's award is at a Level 3 and comprises of 3 units- Unit 301 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (knowledge based)- Unit 302 Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (competence based)- Unit 303 Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (competence based). You will attend 2 workshops over the period of your course and undertake a series of one to one meetings with your portfolio assessor in order to plan the collection of evidence and compile your portfolio.
