Apprenticeship in Maintenance Operations Level 2

This Apprenticeship enables you to develop skills and knowledge which you can then demonstrate and evidence in the property maintenance industry. You will study elements of bricklaying, tiling, carpentry, joinery, shop fitting and maintenance in either workshops or construction sites, within domestic or commercial premises. Whilst attending College you will learn your skills in our on-site workshops including a machine workshop, bench workshop, learning resource room and a purpose built skills training area. As an Apprentice you will receive on the job training at your workplace and also attend day release training at Boston College. The Apprenticeship qualification consists of several elements which have been identified by employers as the skills required by a successful employee in the industry. You will study- Diploma in Maintenance Operations (knowledge)- NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations (skills)- Maths, English, Information Technology (functional skills)- Employment Rights and Responsibilities. Course content will include general safety, efficient working practices, moving and handling resources, confirming work activities and resources for occupational work area, plus several optional units to be discussed with you and your employer. Your training at College will be carried out in our on-site workshops which include a machine workshop, bench workshop, learning resource room and a purpose built skills training area.
