BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport (QCF)

This course is designed for students who wish to gain a sports qualification alongside football training and matches with Boston United Football Club. You will do- Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport - In this unit you will learn about the key systems of the body e.g. muscles, skeleton, heart and lungs and how they work- Physiology of Fitness - In this unit you will learn how the systems of our body respond to exercise- Assessing Risk in Sport -In this unit you will learn how a safe environment is planned and maintained within sport- Fitness Training and Programming - In this unit you will learn about different methods of physical training and how to design training programmes- Sports Coaching - In this unit you will learn to plan, coach and evaluate coaching sessions for a variety of sports using a combination of coaching techniques.- Sports Development - In this unit you will learn how local and national sport impacts upon various individuals and groups in society- Practical Sport Team - In this unit you will learn about the rules, regulations, skills, techniques and tactics of two team sports- Sports Nutrition - In this unit you will learn about the importance of a healthy diet in supporting sports performance and general health. Leadership in Sport - In this unit you will learn how to plan, lead and evaluate activity sessions using a variety of leadership styles- Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise - In this unit you will learn how to perform and evaluate a variety of health and fitness based tests- Practical Sport Individual - In this unit you will learn about the rules, regulations, skills, techniques and tactics of two individual sport- Sports Injuries different sport related injuries and the different methods of treatment and rehabilitation- Sport Psychology - In this unit you will learn about how to assess an athlete's psychological state and then plan a psychological programme to develop various aspects to improve performance.
