On this course you will examine a range of uniformed and civilian jobs in each of the Public Services. It is a practical course where the learner will explore the Public Services through completion of projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The Diploma is made up of 60 credits and comprises 7 units which typically include- Career Planning- Employment in Uniformed Public Services- Sport and Recreation- Adventurous Activities and Teamwork. You will also study functional skills Maths and English (unless previously attained) which are essential for students wishing to continue in Further or Higher Education or in employment. Other courses may be offered alongside the Diploma such as Award in Exercise Studies and Employability Skills which help develop the learner, widen their knowledge and ensure the learning experience is diverse and exciting. The course is delivered using a balance between practical and theory. We include e-learning, one-to-one support, Individual Learning Plans, external visits, events and speakers. The year is divided into three 12 week semesters and students will be expected to complete at least 3 units each semester.
