This course builds on the Level 2 qualification and equips the prospective Automotive Technician with the knowledge of diagnostic procedures for modern vehicles. Successful learners can progress onto an Automotive Apprenticeship or carry on with their studies at University. The diploma is delivered 50% in theory and 50% in practical and covers health, safety and good housekeeping, job roles within the automotive industry, materials and fabrication and vehicle system operation diagnostics in the following subjects- Light vehicle Engines- Light vehicle chassis systems- Light vehicle transmission and driveline systems- Light vehicle auxiliary electrical systems- Light vehicle engine overhauls- Delivery of the qualification is supplemented by visits to major industry manufacturers, museums and shows, this helps broaden the learner's perspective of progression opportunities following successful completion of the course. In addition to your main course you will also study- An industry recognised automotive electrical qualification, the knowledge and experience gained will supplement the main qualification- Individual Learning Plans - You will have a personal tutor to help you to plan your learning journey on an individual basis.
