A robust legal system is the foundation of a fair society. If you feel strongly about concepts like justice and equality then this course could be very rewarding for you. You might see yourself as a Barrister, a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary. There are four units to the Law GCE. Units 1 and 2 at AS level, As you progress through the course you'll learn about- law making and the legal system, civil and criminal liability and central concepts of law. The AS programme covers the following topics- Year 1. The English Legal System and Concepts of Liability (ELS)- in which you will study the main principles, personnel and institutions of our legal system, and will be introduced to basic concepts of civil and criminal liability. This makes up the AS year. In class learning is focused on active use of your skills. You'll be challenged to research, remember and use your learning in class. That can be done in a variety of ways, sometimes you'll be asked to write an essay, sometimes you'll be asked to complete a quiz in teams and sometimes you'll even be asked to create memorable poster - rap - poem to aid in your understanding. The aim is to get you to grips with the materials in fun and efficient way.
