Music Technology - BTEC Extended Diploma

The BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology is aimed at those students who wish to pursue one of the many career paths within the technical side of the music industry. The course consists of a number of units designed to develop a portfolio of work, encompassing both practical and academic outcomes, and focuses on developing the necessary skills required to achieve success in the ever competitive music industry. Students will also receive a firm grounding in the technical and scientific aspects of sound and music and take part in performance events and product launches for recording products they have produced. Students will usually have some skill on a musical instrument or be willing to participate in music projects as vocalists or technical support. There are opportunities for creating music videos, partaking in Live Performance and creating original music on computers and in the recording studio.
