Who is the course for? This course is aimed at students who wish to learn software skills such as web development, spreadsheets and databases. The course also covers how ICT relates to business and society. A Level ICT complements most other A Levels, however we would recommend that students with a Maths / Science background consider A Level Computing. What can it lead to? This course provides a suitable qualification to progress on to University or full time employment. It leads to career opportunities within a wide variety of Information Communication Technology fields including networking, applications and systems analysis What will I study? This course develops your understanding of ICT and the social impact of its use in organisations. You will learn to use computer software, such as Excel for spreadsheets and Access for databases. You will also have an opportunity to create a system for a user, to develop your ability to analyse, appraise and make critical judgments about the use of ICT. You will learn about the role of ICT in management and dissemination of information and develop an awareness of the economic, social and ethical implications of the use of ICT systems
