The LIVES course is designed for learners who have not previously had the opportunity to sit their GCSE exams. It is taken with a view to making progress to other academic or vocational courses of study-training. It is not a resit course and learners must demonstrate that they have the ability and personal attributes to manage the demands of achieving five GCSEs in one academic year. The course offers options of three GCSE subjects, with Maths and English being mandatory. Each GCSE includes three hours per week of tutor-led learning and additional self study sessions. Learners are also expected to attend tutorials and other enrichment activities that will enhance their learning on the course.
