Yogalates is a low impact exercise regime that focuses on building core strength in the body and improving posture by using stretching and conditioning exercises. Focusing on core work, postures, and warm up stretches, you will learn to improve your breathing body mechanics, balance and coordination, strength and flexibility. How the body is positioned whilst still and when moving. We consider the effect that this has on joints, ligaments and muscles.Stability and Balance. Learning to engage your 'core' or 'centre' to build strength from within.Strength and Flexibility. No heavy weights are used, as strength is created by movement in varying angles to promote balance and stability. In terms of flexibility muscles and joints become more mobile to enhance their natural range of motion.Efficiency of Breathing. Breath is vital to life and a fundamental part of a yogalates lesson. During the course you will be reminded of the many benefits of correct breathing.Reduction of stress. Too much stress affects the body in a negative way and can be noticed via poor posture, erratic breathing, back-pain and so on. Pilates encourages a mind/body connection, making your movements flowing and graceful. You will exercise control of your own body. The course is a development programme, so regular attendance is key, together with practice sessions at home.
