You will need three GCSE at grade D or above in Maths, English and ICT or Science. You will need to have an interest in motorsport; successful completion of the IMI Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance may be considered as a progression route. You will also be invited to an interview with a member of the course team. What will I do on this study programme? This study programme will provide you with the opportunity to prepare and maintain a Formula Ford race car for a full race season. Motorsport Level 2 units: Vehicle science Vehicle maths ICT for vehicle repair Electrics and electronics. This study programme includes a Diploma in Motorsport Level 2, tutorial support, employability, work experience and study skills. Maths and English is a fundamental element of this study programme and will be embedded into your vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional Skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? Well assess what you know about the job and your skills in a number of ways, including: On-going workshop assessment IMI assessed observations of practical work IMI E-portfolio IMI online multiple choice questions. What options do I have after completing this study programme? Successful completion of this study programme can lead to: Motorsport, Diploma, Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance Diploma, Level 2/3 Intermediate Apprenticeship in the motor industry A career in the Motorsport industry An NVQ Level 3.
