This course will provide an introduction to acrylic painting techniques. During the 10 week course you will be exploring composition paint application techniques brush care palette care the colour wheel how to mix colours and transfer drawings to paintings Throughout the course you will be working from both still life subjects and photographic reference. By the end of the course Learners will be able to: ? Have confidence in choosing compositions. ? Understand the importance of an under-painting. ? Use a variety of paint applications. ? Produce a painting using a limited palette ? Have an understanding of the colour wheel and complimentary colour mixing. ? Produce a painting using a chosen colour harmony. The tutor will guide you from initial paint application techniques and colour mixing techniques experimenting along the way. You will learn about a variety of paint applications cool and warm colours the use of primary colours and complimentary colour mixing.
