Suitable for all levels, this course enables students to pursue their individual ideas in a workshop environment with access to excellent printmaking facilities. Beginners are welcome and will be introduced to the technical process of etching. The tuition is largely on a one to one basis. This course would also be suitable for student s building a portfolio of work for art school entry to illustrate the ability to work ideas across different media. This course aims to introduce new students to the art of etching as a means to develop their visual ideas beyond drawing/painting. Participants work through technical/artistic concerns with students of all levels in a positive and creative environment. Course Objectives: Develop skills in the technical aspects of etching. Discuss artistic development through one to one tuition. Use the printmaking facilities in a safe environment. Recognise health and safety procedures in the Printroom. Practice experimental work in an atmosphere conducive to learning. Benefit from a group of mixed level ability.
