World of Work provides 3 different accredited levels of study for adults with learning disabilities, aged 19+ who wish to develop pre-employment skills or skills for working with others. Learners will attend college one day a week and participate in a range of accessible and engaging activities such as drama, film, media, art and enterprise. After an initial assessment learners will be offered a level of study that meets their individual needs either at Entry 1, Entry 2 or Entry 3. Independence and/or pre-employment skills will be promoted through the completion of a range of engaging units and activities. Managing your own money: Safety with money, spending money and receiving change, explore bank accounts. Preparation for Work: Drama and media activities, interview different people in employment, observe jobs in the workplace, role-play scenarios. Healthy Living: Exploring healthy activities, personal hygiene and presentation, group fitness and relaxation activities. Individual rights and responsibilities: Making choices, staying safe and goal setting.
