Who is the course for: This course is for experienced hairdressers who wish to enhance their career. The course is tutored by Goldwell colour experts. Candidates will be trained in Goldwell products. Course Content: Students will study the following course areas: Monitor procedures to safely control work operations Promote additional products or services to clients Provide hairdressing consultation services Create a variety of looks using a combination of cutting techniques Style and dress hair to achieve a variety of creative looks Creatively style and dress long hair Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills Provide colour correction services Colour hair using a variety of techniques Perm hair using a variety of techniques Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities Provide creative hair extensions. Study Methods: There will be onetoone tuition, external guest speakers, visits/trips and demonstrations throughout the course. Students are also expected to do independant study at home. All learners must be in a work placement for the duration of the course. How is the course assessed: Students will be assessed through practical workshops in the training salon at Hayes or students may be assessed at their workplace. Students will produce a portfolio of evidence that will also be assessed as they progress through the course. Candidates are advised that they may be required to provide models. As with other hairdressing NVQs, there are three areas of assessment: Practical, You complete the task Oral, You answer questions on your theory knowledge Written, Your portfolio of evidence will include assignments and written questions Participation in shows and competitions Where next, Further Studies: Teacher Training courses or Level 3 ILM First Line Management Course. Where next, Job Opportunities: Progression into salon management or work as a senior stylist.
