Playwrights and filmmakers have delighted in putting the Queen in front of an audience. This light-hearted play-reading course will take a look at three famous examples. Alan Bennett's A Question of Attribution took Anthony Blunt, 'fourth man' and Keeper of the Queen's Pictures as the focus for a play about fakes. Peter Morgan's 2013 smash-hit The Audience took the Queen's Tuesday audience with her Prime Ministers as its subject in a thought-provoking picture of a changing Britain. On the second evening we'll enjoy Helen Mirren's award-winning performance as Her Majesty in a showing of the film The Queen. Taking a part NOT compulsory. Please bring paper copies (not Kindle) of Alan Bennett's Single Spies (Samuel French Acting Edition 1991 ISBN 978-0573018916) and Peter Morgan's The Audience (Faber and Faber 2013 IS
