This course uses encaustic wax (dyed beeswax) with tissue and textile to create textured surfaces for stitch or for cards. Encaustic wax usually has a hard shiny appearance, but by using tissue you can alter this and create more subtle images and effects. Many of these pieces can be used for stitch or adapted to create unusual effects. This course is intended for those who are familiar with encaustic wax and want to extend their techniques and also stitchers who are looking for new ideas.
