This course is for students who would like to learn about how a computer works, designing and building a website, making updates, looking at security systems, putting together simple computer networks and creating and customising business documents. It is ideally suited to develop the skills and knowledge required in the ever-changing world of Information Technology. The course offers ‘hands on’ practical teaching to give you the skills that are highly valued by employers. The course is designed to lead on to one of our Level 3 Computing courses. What is a typical day like? Each day has lectures and work operation times, usually two in the morning and one or two in the afternoon, covering lots of interesting aspects of computer systems in the workplace. Over the year you will be covering: Using ICT to Present Information * Introduction to Computer Systems * Customise Software Applications * Web Development * Networking Essentials * Installing Computer Software. You will also study a Level 2 in Media Certificate, Digital Graphics, Digital Animation and Game Design.
