Developed in partnership with the not-for-profit legal advice sector (including AdviceUK and Citizens Advice), the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Legal Advice is ideal for anyone whose job is to provide independent legal information, advice and representation to members of the public. At intermediate level, apprentices develop their communication skills and learn how to signpost clients as well as developing an understanding of how to find legal information materials and provide basic advice.
Name: Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Legal Advice Qualification title: Certificate in Supporting Legal Advice Provision (QCF) Qualification type: Apprenticeship Assessment The programme comprises: Skills for Justice Awards Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Legal Advice Provision. This is made up of units which develop and test knowledge and competence. Students are assessed through a mix of assignments and the production of an electronic portfolio of evidence. Apprentices (with the guidance of their trainer and manager) choose a range of units matched to their job role. These can cover areas such as communicating with legal advice clients, enabling clients to access signposting and referral services, obtaining and providing legal information materials and providing legal information and advice over the telephone. Functional skills in English, maths and ICT. Unlike academic exams, these are designed to ensure that students have the skills in maths, English and ICT that they need at work.
