As a merchant timber supplies apprentice, you will follow a comprehensive programme which offers training in a variety of skills in the timber merchant industry. This qualification offers units which include the purchasing, or the selling, of timber based products or carrying out other operations in a timber merchant setting.The tasks you may undertake will range from the receipt and storage of timber, dealing with customer enquires as well as different logistical operations and stock controlling measures. An opportunity to attend our Centre of Vocational Excellence in furniture manufacture will be incorporated into your training programme, as required, to further enhance your knowledge and skills. You will have specialised tuition by our time served, qualified Training Officers. This will assist you to achieve the qualification within a set timescale.
