Are you thinking of doing a Foundation course and would like the opportunity to try out specialist Design subject areas. At the Kensington Centre we offer a specialist Design pathway which includes all the general art and design studies such as drawing, painting, idea development and research, but with the added benefit of being able to work in Graphics, Interior Design, Ceramics, Jewellery and Glass disciplines. You are taught by specialist tutors with industry experience. This challenging one year course will give you the knowledge, breadth, vocational skills and intensive preparation required to produce a high quality portfolio of work, with which to compete for a place on a wide variety of specialized university courses in Art and Design. The diagnostic nature of the Foundation course will help you to discover, and develop your strengths when selecting your preferred pathway of specialization. Contextual studies are integrated and you will be required to produce some written work. Study support and Level 2 English and Maths are available to study in tandem, if required. The course allows you to develop individuality, experiment with new ways of creative and visual thinking, explore the breadth of possibilities within art and design in two and three dimensions and pursue a sustained investigation into your chosen area.
