You must have two years of previous learning of the language which is approximately 112 hours tuition or equivalent experience of speaking and reading in the language. This course covers reading, writing, listening and speaking in the language. Grammar is taught in an integrated way. The emphasis is on the communicative method of learning. Formal instruction, pair group work, listening, reading and comprehension exercises, role plays, games, discussions and tutorials are all part of the course. Use is also made of visual and audio materials. Past exam papers are used in class activities to help prepare students for the final exams, held in May and June by EDEXCEL. All four language skills are assessed and a minimum of 3 hours home study per week is required., Your level of language skill will be assessed by means of a test and an interview prior to enrolment.
